Description

Spartan Rescue Academy’s popular Rope Rescue Course Series provides an intense 16 hour training in Rope Rescue techniques focusing on basic rigging skills, necessary personal skills to work safely at height, team based pick-offs and low angle litter rescue techniques. Our experienced Lead Instructors will draw upon their extensive actual rescue experience to simplify Rope Rescue for course members utilizing a safe, functional and efficient approach. Only Spartan Rescue Academy emphasizes a total response model for Technical Rope Rescue focusing on patient access, patient care and safe patient extrication.  Rope Rescue Operations provides an intense 16 hour NFPA compliant experience that requires each participant successfully complete the Job Performance Requirements outlined in NFPA 1006 Chapter 5.2.

PREREQUISITES:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Rope Rescue Awareness
SKILLS TAUGHT INCLUDE:

Size up, Equipment Inspection, Knots/Bends/Hitches, Anchoring, Critical Angles, Introduction to Force Vectors, Safety Checks, Edge Protection, Belaying, Fixed Rope Systems, Ascending, Descending, Self-Rescue, Lowering Systems, Simple and Compound Mechanical Advantage, Patient Packaging and Stabilization, Tag Lines, Low Angle Rescue, Rescue System Rigging.

COURSE INCLUDES:
  • Spartan Rescue Academy Certificate
WHAT TO BRING TO THE CLASS:
  • Eye Protection
  • Hand Protection (Work or Auto Ex Gloves are acceptable)
  • Bunker Gear, Work Wear, or Work Coveralls
  • Helmet- Rescue or USAR Helmets are acceptable
  • Hearing Protection
  • CSA Steel Toe Workboots
  • Note Taking Material
  • Cameras are encouraged on the training ground
  • We will be outside most of the course so dress appropriately for the weather.

Note: Ordering a class on-line assumes that you have read and agree to the Terms of Enrollment. You must also complete and submit the Waiver of Liability and Medical Form that will be provided on the first day of the course. If any members appear to be fatigued, injured, or otherwise deemed by the instructors unable to participate, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol your participation will be immediately discontinued and your enrollment will be forfeited.
