FIELD OPERATIONS RESPONDERS

PART TIME & ON-CALL • HAMILTON, ONTARIO

Spartan Response is actively recruiting to fill several positions for Part-Time and On-Call Responders who play an important role providing a wide range of core services to support client projects.

Spartan Response provides full-service capabilities in: Confined Space, Spill Response, HazMat Decon, Industrial Cleaning, Waste Haulage & Disposal, Training, and Equipment.

As we operate 24/7, on-call shifts are scheduled for days, afternoons, nights and weekends. Customers book our services based on their needs for pre-scheduled projects and/or emergency response service.

Our ideal Field Operations Responders are team oriented with FLEXIBILITY and AVAILABILITY in their schedule. This is a great opportunity for individuals who want to earn additional income around their current schedule.

We provide candidates with new recruit training, valuable industry experience and the opportunity for advancement in the company.

These positions report to the Field Operations Manager and are based out of our Hamilton office.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support a wide range of job functions (based on your certifications) related to our services in:
    • Confined Space (Attendant, Rescue, High Angle Rope)
    • Industrial Cleaning (High Pressure Wash & Vac-Truck, Waste Pick Up & Disposal)
    • Hazmat Response (Decon/Disinfection)
    • Emergency Spill Response
    • General Labour
  • Ability to submit accurate project work: Work orders, manifests and reports
  • Follow all Health & Safety protocols (Spartan & Client-Specific)
  • Support shop-time duties (company fleet, equipment, back-shop, mask disinfection)
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Certifications:

  • Team oriented & good communication & interpersonal skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to foster strong team and client relationship building skills.
  • Ability to follow Environmental Health & Safety programs & procedures.

Candidates that have any of the following VALID certifications are preferred, however, Spartan Response provides training to the right candidates to prepare them for the field.

  • Standard First Aid and CPR
  • WHMIS
  • Fall Protection or Working at Heights (MOL)
  • Confined Space Entry and Rescue
  • Hazardous Materials Awareness, Operations & Technician
  • Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
  • Basic Spill Response
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)

Licences:

  • Drivers License – Clean abstract (G Class)
  • DZ Licence – Bonus
  • Forklift – Bonus

Hours of Work:

  • Part Time & On-Call
  • Shift Work- Hours vary based on assignment
  • Travel to client job sites using company fleet

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate $21.00 to start

Start Date:

  • New recruits must attend Spartan’s 2-3 training program* before being deployed in the field. (*Based on candidates’ current certifications).
  • Value of training programs $800+ (SCBA, Confined Space, Fall Pro, Fit Testing)
