• Hazardous Materials Awareness, Operations & Technician
• Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
• Basic Spill Response
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)

Licences:

• Drivers License – Clean abstract (G Class)
• DZ Licence – Bonus
• Forklift – Bonus

Hours of Work:

• Part Time & On-Call
• Shift Work- Hours vary based on assignment
• Travel to client job sites using company fleet

Compensation:

• Hourly rate $21.00 to start

Start Date:

• New recruits must attend Spartan’s 2-3 training program* before being deployed in the field. (*Based on candidates’ current certifications).
• Value of training programs $800+ (SCBA, Confined Space, Fall Pro, Fit Testing)

Position Responsibilities:

• Leads day-to-day incoming requests for job scheduling that includes compiling job details, scheduling resources and equipment. Works collaboratively with Spartan Team Leads and Commercial Team to ensure all requirement are accurate and job-activation ready.
• Prepares accurate and value-add quotes and proposals in response to incoming requests from clients and new business leads for Spartan services.
• Emergency Response support: Disposal site coordination, specialty equipment rentals, lab samples, report verification & distribution as required.
• Participate in tender and contract preparation
• Manage project filing system both electronic and paper
• Support employee training & certifications (Documents, training courses (skills) tracking, flagging gaps etc.)
• Coordinate any job-specific requirements (Site passes, pre-training/qualifications, safety as identified by client).
• Support project logistics for remote accommodation, equipment rentals, subcontract reviews and qualifications.
• Liaise regularly with clients, sub-contractors, and vendors.
• Review job invoices prior to management review.

Education, Skills & Background:

• College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree.
• 2 to 4 years’ experience in a project coordinator role.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an operations team and meet deadlines.
• Detail oriented to ensure project details and execution are accurate.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
• Good technical writing skills; the ability to create professional quotes and proposals.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and quality management skills.
• Proficient skills using MS Office including Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook.

Mandatory Experience & Skills:

• Minimum of 1-year experience in hazardous materials emergency response
• Previous experience in chemical handling, transferring, and waste management

Education & Industry

• NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Technician Level
• Confined Space Entry/Rescue Certification

Licences:

• Drivers License – Clean abstract (G Class minimum. D Class Preferred)

Hours of Work:

• On-Call/Casual
• Shift work – Hours will vary to cover 24/365 coverage.

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs confined space attendant functions
• Executes confined space rescue in the event of an emergency
• Follows Spartan’s handling, inspection, cleaning and preventative maintenance guidelines for all confined space and rescue equipment

• To facilitate a range of Spartan Response training programs to our clients in accordance with our training program guidelines and quality standards. (In-Class & Practical Skills Assessments)
• Deliver training at our facility in Hamilton, client-sites and through virtual instructor-led online formats.
• Good command delivering training using digital technology and the ability to draw engagement with participants using relevant industry stories/examples and Q&A to enhance learning.
• Provide feedback and recommendations regarding training program content to support our quality assurance standards.

• The ability to deliver training in both English & French is required
• Driver’s License & flexibility to travel to client sites as required
• 3+ years of relevant industry field experience
• A minimum of 2 years facilitating training
• Good command of digital technology (laptop, connecting to projector, trouble-shooting)
• Good command of Microsoft Teams for Virtual Online Training

The ability to facilitate training in 2 or more of the following areas:

• Confined Space Entry
• Confined Space Rescue
• Basic Spill Response
• Lock-out/Tag-out
• Book 7 Traffic Control
• Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)

• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, standards, and guidelines

• High level of mechanical aptitude with hazardous materials pumping equipment
• Ability to support a hazardous spill operation in a team environment
